Kevin Romano runs both SquallCo Development and Parachute Studios. A graduate of Gettysburg College with a BA in history, Kevin worked first for MBNA America, and then a small internet startup before getting involved in real estate development by successfully rehabbing and flipping a house in a rough section of Philadelphia over 20 years ago.

Today, Kevin is fortunate to have a wonderful team that allows us to handle every aspect of the development process. From acquisitions through entitlement, construction, marketing, property management and more, our in-house team of Carlos Hillinger and Dina Scrivani-Purcell, as well as long-standing relationships with professionals and contractors, empowers us to continue to build communities.

Carlos Hillinger is our project manager and handles the day-to-day operations of our construction projects - both Parachuite Studios and others. A graduate of Drexel University with degrees in engineering and construction management, Carlos started with SquallCo as an intern while we were involved in Bok, and has since grown his career with us. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in development from Georgetown University, and has been an integral part of our ability to develop Parachute Studios in unique and clever ways with an eye on the budget, design, and more.

Dina Scrivani-Purcell is the glue of our businesses, managing and leasing Parachute Studios, handling administrative work, and anything and everything in between. She is keenly aware of the needs of our tenants and in taking care of her “babies” (our buildings on top of her actual family!). Dina has taken the vision for Parachute Studios and run with it, and has a great sense for the types of people and businesses that will thrive in our communities.

About
Parachute Studios

After Kevin and SquallCo’s involvement in the award-winning, 350,000 sq ft Bok Building in South Philadelphia, the idea for Parachute Studios emerged. At Bok we saw first hand that there was a large number of people who needed and craved authentic places and communities to work and grow their businesses. Many of the traditional options, from offices to industrial, simply did not fit their needs.

Parachute Studios was created to make interesting places for people to work around interesting people. Our first location, in Morrisville, was a leap of faith, but quickly filled with a great variety of interesting people doing cool things.

Our second location, in Pennsauken, NJ, grew our footprint regionally, and is filling up quickly with tenants including music production, photography, a Dula, estheticians, a travel agency, and much more.

A third location is under construction now, and is expected to open in the Fall of 2025. Also in Morrisville, the former Penn Manor School is a very exciting building with some larger format spaces, a gym / event space, co-working, a commissary kitchen, and more.

We are always on the hunt for our next project: an unloved old building in need of fresh ideas and attention to bring out what it already was.
